We'll leave the light on for you. . . .

It's not much, but it will do. We are driving through the night to denver anyway. Just need a place to wash off the road grime and maybe sit in one place for a few minutes.

On the air. . . .

We rolled into Sioux City and about 4:00pm. Loaded in and and started setting up. then we found out we could pop over to the local radio station for a quick interview for the new record. Star 102.3. Not to be confused with Star 102.5 in Des Moines, the radio station giving us some love by adding us into regular rotation, but same basic idea. We talked about the record, we talked about the show. Hope someone was listening.

Leaf Hopper

Hey, Ben found a leaf hopper.

Free burritos for everyone!

sometimes it's not about being 'somebody'; sometimes it's about being
mistaken for 'somebody'. some days all you gotta do is buy Meatloaf's old
bus and, voila, offers of free burritos. thanks to the lovely Bobbie and
crew at the 72nd street Chipotle in Omaha. smack dab in middle america and
we didn't ask for our money back at the door.

then there was the young lady who hung out of her car window while she took
a picture of justin & me and the meatloaf sign. yeah, that's right...
meatloaf, baby!

Where are we?

I have played a hundred times in Omaha. Chances are if it is a cool place to play I've either played it or seen a show there. I have never heard of this place. Everybody in the club gettin tipsy. I'm a little worried, but you never know. Maybe it will turn out fine. On top of that. I am coming down with a cold. You know the kind of cold you get after you are stressed and don't sleep much and don't eat right and are generally fatigued. The kind of cold I always get after a tour. Except this is the beginning of a tour. I am more than a little worried. Tonight I am going to battle it with a helthy dose of rock and roll with a side of Maker's Mark (maker's mark until our shippment of Templeton Rye comes in). wish me luck.

packing . . . packing, packing.

Well it is 1:30 am. I'm tried, but I am still waiting for a load of laundry to get done in the dryer. I have packed the biggest bag of all times and I don't think I will have to wash any clothes for the next 10 days. We leave at 1:00pm tomorrow for Omaha. A new place I have never heard of. I am a little worried, usually if it is worth playing, then I've heard of it. But music venues in Omaha are disappearing as fast as my brain cells on this tour. We are taking a chance. I hope we have a crowd. Every time we move venues in omaha, we lose 50% of our crowd. Was once 600 people at the Music Box, about 350 tops at Ranch Bowl, no more than 100 at Sokol, and we'll see about the spotlight club. Here is a shot from people's last week. . . . .

On the road again . . . . . Listen Through The Static Tour.

Well . . . here we go. One Week into the new record Listen Through The Static. We have played some of our home markets and the new record has sold out of most stores across the midwest. I guess it is time to blog. Our friend Benjamin Wagner finally convinced us to do this. So consider this an introduction. Here you will find stories from the road, photographs and other stuff that some of you may find interesting. Visit often and if you find it amusing or entertaining send it to a friend or link to it, or whatever the hell you do with a blog.
